Asthma/Rhinitis Panel for Adults

0 Azn

The Asthma-Rhinitis Test for Adults is used to detect the presence of specific Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against certain allergens or allergen component complexes. The results are provided for each allergen in the panel.

An allergic reaction triggers inflammation due to the action of IgE on airway cells. This leads to mucosal swelling, runny nose, coughing, and sometimes a slight fever. As a result, allergic inflammation weakens the protective function of the mucous membrane, making it more susceptible to viral infections

Tested Allergens:

  • Cat hair (e1)
  • Dog hair (e5)
  • House dust mite (d1)
  • Typha grass (cattail) (g6)
  • Birch (t3)
  • Common wormwood (mugwort) (w6)
  • Giant ragweed (w1)
  • German cockroach (i6)
  • The test can be taken 2 hours after the last meal.
  • No smoking for 3 hours before the test.
  • Avoid physical and emotional stress for 1 hour before the test.

Symptoms of an Allergic Reaction:

  • Mucosal swelling
  • Runny nose
  • Cough
  • Slight fever

Elevated IgE levels indicate that the condition is of allergic origin.
