Asthma/Rhinitis Panel for Children

0 Azn

Allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma are among the most common allergic conditions in children. These diseases develop as a result of allergen exposure, triggering an immune response. The symptoms are often confused with acute respiratory infections, but they require a completely different treatment approach.

Rhinitis reduces the child's quality of life and increases the risk of infections. Around 10–40% of children with allergic rhinitis eventually develop bronchial asthma—a life-threatening condition that causes coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing, and choking episodes.

To ensure proper treatment for asthma and rhinitis, various laboratory tests are used, including a special allergy panel for children.

  • The test can be taken 2 hours after the last meal.
  • No smoking for 3 hours before the test.
  • Avoid physical and emotional stress for 1 hour before the test.

Symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis:

  • Swelling of the throat mucosa
  • Runny nose
  • Watery eyes
  • Fever

Interpretation of Results:

  • Elevated levels indicate that the condition is of allergic origin.
