Atomoxetine is a medication used, in particular, for treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It can be used alone or in combination with psychostimulants, and it is recommended only for children over six years of age.

Common side effects of atomoxetine include abdominal pain, loss of appetite, nausea, fatigue, and dizziness. Serious side effects may include angioneurotic edema, liver problems, stroke, psychosis, heart issues, suicidal tendencies, and aggression.

Atomoxetine is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and is thought to work by increasing the levels of norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain.

The test can be taken 3–4 hours after your last meal. It is necessary to consult with your doctor regarding discontinuing the medication.
