Carbamazepine (Finlepsin)

Carbamazepine belongs to anticonvulsant, antiepileptic, antipsychotic, antidepressant, normothymic, and analgesic drugs. It is used for the treatment of epilepsy, bipolar disorders, and certain types of neuralgia (such as trigeminal neuralgia and pain in diabetic neuropathy).

Biomaterial for analysis: Venous blood.
Fasting requirement: Do not eat for 4 hours before the test.

  • From the beginning of carbamazepine administration and dose adjustment – every 2–3 weeks, then every 2–3 months.
  • When prescribing treatment and other medications, considering drug interactions.
  • In case of disease recurrence while taking carbamazepine.
  • If adverse side effects occur.

The test results are evaluated by the attending physician, taking into account the drug dosage, method of administration, patient’s age, comorbid conditions, and individual drug tolerance.
